Newborns in Need

Take a look at all of the items we collected for the Madison's Angels Chapter of Newborns in Need. Members organized and hosted the shower on Thursday, October 28 during parent teacher conferences. Members collected a total of 155 items worth more than $620. Thanks to all of the student, faculty, and community support for the event.

Red Ribbon Week Success

This week we had several activities to support being DRUG FREE. At the beginning of the week, members went around town hanging red ribbons on signs, cars, and telephone poles. Tuesday the Red Ribbon Fairies (AKA Trent and Austin) visit each classroom to hand out ribbons and stickers to students. Students celebrated Give Drugs the Boot and Wear Red Day by dressing up. More than 150 Cookie Grams were delivered on Thursday before the high school students participated in class competitions. After 8 events, the Junior Class walked away with the win! Congratulations uniors!

National TeamSmarts Winner for October

Congratulations to Samantha Pierce, Austin Brown, Becca Neely, and Cassandra Kunz for participating in the TeamSmarts challenge for October and placing FIRST in the nation. The team answered questions about personal finance topics to secure the win. The Walnut Grove FCCLA Chapter will be awarded $100 for the first place finish!

Newborns in Need Baby Shower

On Thursday, October 28, 2010 the Newborns in Need Baby Shower will be held in the FACS Room in the High School. The shower is a come and go event from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Members, parents, and community members are encouraged to bring a donation to the shower and enjoy refreshments. There are several items that are suggested for donation. Other items may be donated.

Donation Requests: Baby wash, Baby shampoo, Baby powder, Diaper ointment, Diapers, Baby wipes, Nail clippers, Scissors, Bottles, Pacifiers, Baby spoons. Sleepers, Outfits, Washcloths, Diaper Bags, Onesies, Socks, and Blankets.

Walnut Grove's Got Talent Winners

Congratulations to all of the participants and winners in the Talent Show. Thanks to several local businesses for donating to the event: Inspirations Salon, Jen's Country Cuts, Cole's Barber Shop, The Sandwich Shoppe, Walmart in Bolivar, and Dadeville Cafe.
