Busy Week at WGHS

Members are checking dates on donated food before sorting it.
Students are loading the bus with more than 15 carts of clothing, toys, shoes, and coats.
3 FCCLA Members pose with the donations from the Newborns in Need Baby Shower.

We have had a busy week with FCCLA projects. On Monday and Tuesday members continued to sort donated food in preparation for filling 31 food baskets. Monday was also the kickoff of our Elf the Teacher contest. Students are donating money to teacher stockings to see which teacher gets to dress like an elf for the day. The contest ends on December 16th.

Tuesday was the annual Newborns in Need Baby Shower. This year students, members, and the community donated 185 items worth more than $550. Arletta Jones of the Madison's Angel Chapter came on Friday to pick up the donations.

Wednesday chapter officers and some elementary students and teachers to purchase gifts and clothes for the 76 children involved in the Share Your Christmas project. Thursday and Friday members filled and organized the 31 food baskets for the Share Your Christmas families. Some of the families have small numbers but some have 6 or 7 people in them. On Tuesday we will transport all of the food baskets to the Christian Church Fellowship Center for pickup/delivery on Wednesday. It is exciting to see that so many Walnut Grove families are going to be helped by this project.

  1. Debra and FCCLA chapter,
What an astounding feat this was! I am also impressed with the "change day" - this is definitely an idea that needs to be passed around. Congratulations on making someone's Christmas happier!
